Journey Through the Kyzylkum Desert to Ancient Khiva

Today, we depart from Bukhara and head west across the vast and legendary Kyzylkum Desert. This journey follows the ancient path of the Silk Road caravans, offering a glimpse into the dramatic landscapes that traders traversed for centuries.

• The Kyzylkum Crossing: Enjoy the desert scenery and a stop along the Amu Darya River, providing a perfect opportunity for photos and a brief rest during the long drive.

• Arrival in Khiva: Upon reaching the city, we will check into our hotel located near or within the historic inner city.

• Itchan Kala Evening Tour: As evening falls, we take our first walk through Itchan Kala, the UNESCO-protected open-air museum. The mud-brick walls and minarets of the fortress create a stunning silhouette against the sunset, offering a peaceful and mystical atmosphere for your first night in Khiva.

Exploring the Living Museum of Itchan Kala

Today we fully immerse ourselves in Itchan Kala, the spectacular inner fortress of Khiva, which remains remarkably preserved as a living museum of the Silk Road.

• Kunya Ark: Explore the "old fortress," the former citadel and residence of the Khans, offering a panoramic view of the entire city from the watchtower.

• Juma Mosque: Visit the Friday Mosque, unique for its flat roof supported by 213 intricately carved wooden columns, some dating back over a thousand years.

Today marks the conclusion of your Silk Road & Desert Experience. After a final breakfast at your hotel, we will ensure a smooth transition for your journey home or to your next destination.

Departure Details:

• Morning at Leisure: Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some last-minute souvenir shopping or a final stroll through the ancient streets of Khiva.

• Transfer to Urgench Airport: Our driver will meet you at the hotel for a comfortable transfer to the airport in Urgench (approximately 30-40 minutes from Khiva).

• Domestic Flight: Board your flight back to Tashkent for your international connection or onward travel.
